I saw this news, and my oh my, I was so impressed by Kwasi’s credentials. However, I was more utterly shocked at the tantamount of criticisms he’s getting for hitting it big with the Ivy League institutions. Yes, it’s true that he is black, and by the standards of a society that is still dealing with “the problem of the color line,” getting accepted to prestigious bastions may be “easier.” But who are you to judge that? His SAT score of 2, 250 and athletic prowess are impressive; you do not have the right to de-value his hard work and dedication in academia, a place that is seemingly and disappointingly still shutting out the marginalized.
If he was Asian, he still would have gotten into a handful of them.
